With her 8000 inhabitants, a racial melting pot of people with origins in Africa, India or Europe, Saint-François is growing and modernizing. With them, century after century, she has become one of the leading municipalities of Guadeloupe.

For generations focused on fishing and agriculture, the municipality now has undertaken modernization works in the city center, the building of tourist facilities, sporting and cultural equipment and industrial and commercial parks.

The combined efforts of the governing team and the inhabitants made Saint-François a dynamic municipality with a new focus of activity: tourism.
