 A 7 km de Pointe-à-Pitre, c'est une des trois grandes stations balnéaires de la Guadeloupe. Petite ville très animée avec de nombreux commerces et restaurants autour d'une artère centrale. Les grands hôtels aux plages privées ainsi qu'un casino se trouvent à la Pointe de la Verdure, à Bas-du-Fort ou autour de la Marina.
A visiter: L'îlet du Gosier: minuscule îlet aux plages de sable blanc portant un phare. Traversèe en barque de pêcheur, Fort Fleur d'Epée au-dessus de Bas-du-Fort: ruines d'un vieux fort abritant une salle d'exposition. Vue panoramique sur la baie, Aquarium de Pointe-à-Pitre sur le deuxième bassin de la Marina; présente essentiellement la faune et la flore aquatique des Caraïbes. |

Zu besichtigen: Insel Gosier: winzige Insel mit weißen Korallenstränden um einen Leuchtturm. Überfahrt in Fischerbooten, Fort Fleur d'Epée oberhalb von Bas-du-Fort: Ruinen einer einstigen Festung, beherbergt heute Ausstellungen. Rundblick über die gesamte Bucht, Aquarium von Pointe-à-Pitre am zweiten Becken des Yachthafens; zum Kennenlernen der Fischarten der karibischen See. |

The big hotels and a casino are on the Pointe de la Verdure, in Bas-du-Fort or around the Marina. To visit: Isle of Gosier: small island with white beaches around a light house in front of Gosier. Crossing on board of small fisher boats, Fort Fleur d'Epée above Bas-du-Fort: ruins of a former fortress hosting exhibitions nowadays. Panorama view over the bay, Aquarium of Pointe-à-Pitre at the second dock of the marina; to get to know the fauna and flora of the Caribbean Sea. |
