La vielle ville, avec une très jolie église sur la place de la mairie, s'ouvre sur le Grand Cul de Sacs Marin par un petit port de pêche. Le Petit Cul de Sac Marin est parsemé d'un chapelet de petits îlets, dont quelquesuns habités qui offrent des logements touristiques. Dans sa partie moderne, la ville abrite le plus grand centre commercial de l'île ainsi que la plus grande zone industrielle: Jarry.
